David Bowie and Gorillaz Possibly Collaborating in 2016

There is a rumor going around the internet recently that if true is going to make a ton of people go absolutely NUTS. The rumor in question is that legendary experimental pop artist David Bowie and the famed experimental hip-hop group Gorillaz may be collaborating next year.

According to hints dropped by Gorillaz co-founder Jaime Hewlett on Instagram, the collaboration will be happening in addition to a whole new album from Gorillaz. The hint came in the form of a picture of Ziggy Stardust era David Bowie edited to look like he was a Gorillaz character.

Bowie's representatives have since refuted the claim, saying it was just respect from one musician to another according the official statement given on his official website. Bowie will also be putting out new material next year, a more experimental than usual album titled Blackstar.

I hope that this rumor turns out to be true despite the statement. A collaboration between Gorillaz and David Bowie would be something on a whole other plane of existence. Considering they both like to get experimental and are each legendary in their own rights for extraordinary song writing, I don't think I could even begin to fathom what they would create together.
