Robert Plant Desires to Work With Jack White

Former Led Zeppelin vocalist Robert Plant has recently released a new solo album (lullaby... and the Ceaseless Roar) and you would think that would keep him fairly busy. However, he seems to want to make time for a special collaboration by doing a single with Jack White.

During a Facebook chat that Plant participated in with fans of his not too long ago he was asked if he had any plans to work with White any time soon and he said, “I love Jack White’s buccaneer spirit, and the way he dodges through the musical horizons. I’d be happy to make a single with him.”

Plant stated he is free to record on the morning of September 15 before a meeting with Alison Krauss and Patty Griffin. The song he has in mind is a cover of Love Me, by Phantom. As rad as this would be however, White is currently on tour and will be in Cleveland, OH that day.

Will White find a way to bend his schedule to make this collaboration happen? I honestly hope so. If David Coverdale and Jimmy Page can pull off a great collaboration, why can't these two legends? White's and Plant's musical styles would probably blend well together considering their heavy blues backgrounds. Vocally it would probably be a real treat as well. Hopefully White responds soon.
